In order to help you grow spiritually, emotionally, and practically, we’ve established the following guidelines for those receiving ongoing support: 1. Church and Community Engagement Attend one church service per week: Join us for a full church service or Bible study at least once a week. This will help you stay connected, grow spiritually, and find encouragement. Stay for the entire service: Church services typically last between 1 to 2 hours. We encourage you to stay for the full service to benefit from the experience. Participate in Church Activities: Whenever possible, we encourage you to get involved in other church activities, such as Bible studies or volunteer opportunities. These activities can deepen your connection to the community and enhance your personal growth. Commitment to Employment and Self-Sufficiency Begin a Job Search Within Two Weeks: If you are not currently employed, we ask that you begin actively searching for jobs within two weeks of receiving support. Apply to at Least Three Jobs per Week: We encourage you to apply for at least three jobs per week. Keep track of your applications and follow up on them. Use Available Resources: Take advantage of local resources like job training programs, resume workshops, and employment services. We’re happy to guide you to these services. Transportation and Pickup Pickup Food and Supplies at Church: If you are receiving ongoing support, we ask that you come to the church to pick up food and supplies. This allows us to stay connected and ensure you have access to spiritual and community support. Make an Effort to Overcome Barriers: We understand that transportation can be a challenge. We encourage you to explore all options, whether it’s carpooling, using public transportation, or asking friends or family for assistance. 4. Personal Accountability Keep Us Updated: Stay in communication with us, whether you’re updating us on your job search, challenges you're facing, or your personal progress. Regular check-ins help us guide and support you. Attend Scheduled Meetings: Be sure to attend any scheduled meetings or classes that are part of your journey toward stability, such as our Restoration Class or Celebrate Recovery sessions. 5. Time-Limited Support Our support is intended to be temporary, helping you build a strong foundation and move toward self-reliance. During this time, we expect you to take the necessary steps toward independence, such as seeking employment and spiritual growth. Important Information for Those Seeking Support To provide the best possible support, here’s some additional information to keep in mind: Availability: I’m available after 5:30 PM on weekdays and most weekends. Since I am a volunteer, I am not present at the church during the day. How to Reach Me: Please text rather than call unless it’s urgent. Financial Policy: While I cannot provide direct financial assistance, I can connect you to community resources. Privacy and Confidentiality: All conversations are kept confidential.
